WHO IS ROSEBUDLIA?

As you will have seen from the first page, my name is Sue Rose and I live in Tunbridge Wells in Kent which is about 40 miles from London.
I started my life in design back in the early 1980s when my sister asked me to make her a quilted jacket. I remember it was a patchwork jacket made from purple, mauve and cream design squares and it was just fabulous! The colours inspired me to go on and study for an A Level in art and Design which I did through the Adult Education Centre in Fareham, Hampshire (I was living in Gosport at the time).
Because of this course I became interested in women artists and their part in the history of art and so I joined up for Arts Foundation Course with the Open University. Here, "Arts" meant music, philosophy, art and literature.
Because of a divorce and then a move in location (Tunbridge Wells) I started my studies again and still with the Open University I joined Gender Issues course because again my interest was with women in the arts. Not satisfied with completing this course I then started on what was to be the start of a remarkable change in my life.
From here I studied for my BA in Art History and then I progressed to working towards my MA in Jewish/Christian Relations. (Cambridge) ("Why" I hear you ask!)? Well, when I looked at Christian paintings something always seemed wrong to me but I didn't understand what it was. Even though I am not a religious person myself I knew I had to understand the origins of Christianity in order to "read" Christian paintings. Oh, and if you want to know what was "wrong" you will have to wait as I will introduce that at a later date! :o)
So ... always with art in mind I studied my socks off and ..... now I am writing my book based on all the knowledge I have aquired over the years. It was a long journey but a journey that has inspired me all the way.
Back in the 80s I also started jewellery making and this has stayed with me all the way through and in September 07 I am starting a silversmithing course and with the results of my efforts I hope to bring inspirational jewellery designs to my websites.
Life is a journey and I believe we must take advantage of every twist and turn. Tis better this than to reach old age and say "I wish I had ...."
